AN ICON FOR THE TIMES

From its original ambition to bring new life to the city, to its enduring legacy as a modern landmark, Collins Place is a city block of amenity, an established piece of the city with a true mix of uses and multiplicity of experiences.

The Collins Place towers were originally designed and developed by Pei and Partners and Bates Smart and McCutcheon in 1981.

For over half a century Collins Place has defined the modern identity of our metropolis. An icon of the times for the times, it continues to inspire, to evolves, and to bring new life to the city and its people.

“When it is finished and the life of the city flows into this space, and the life of Collins Place flows into the city, the project will be seen to be much more supportive of the special qualities of Melbourne than is recognised at present by people who view it only as twin towers.”
Harry Cobb - Collins Place Architect, 1979.
